Lately Lily has had a stuffed up nose. I have the humidifier running all night and that seems to help, but still, it seems every evening and morning she has difficulty eating because her nose is so clogged. So I have "Little Noses" (a saline solution) that helps loosen the boogies so she can either inhale and swallow them or I can suck them out.... And when I suck them out you would think I was abusing her with the way she cries. She is easy to soothe afterwards, normally, but seeing those tears well up in her eyes and trickle down her cheek, hearing her cries, it just breaks my heart. It is awful to hear her cry.
Alternately, when she smiles, it is so amazing. It can brighten my day like nothing else can. Jeremy has said the same thing. Is that just a parent thing? Or a new parent thing?
Jeremy likes to play his guitar for her to help soothe her to sleep when he knows there is nothing wrong except that she's tired. It is fun to see her react to the music. She loves any noise, and music is something that seems to intrigue her. We're hoping she will be musically and/or artistically inclined... if anything, though, with Jeremy and I as parents, she should at least appreaciate the arts. I hope she will.
She is a very happy baby, overall. She smiles and giggles a lot, and like most babies, I'm sure, she is easily amused. She loves silly noises, so Jeremy and I are obliged to make all kinds of silly noises for her.
Chris, our daycare lady, also makes all kinds of silly noises for her, and she loves it! Chris is, thankfully, very good with Lily, and she gets lots of attention from the other girls at daycare. Chris's children also help entertain her. It's a very good situation.
