What can Lily do?

At her doctor's appointment yesterday Lily weighed nearly 13 lbs and was 24 inches long, and is in the 50th percentile. Her head size is in the 75 percentile still.

Lily is trying to roll over. She can roll over onto her side, but doesn't quite make it all the way. She is able to hold her head up very well, and though she doesn't like tummy time very much, she is starting to try to push herself forward with her legs. Then she cries.

She is giggling and smiling often, which is especially adorable.
She reaches for everything and grabs almost anything and tries to put whatever it is in her mouth. We have various toys for her to chew on. Her favorite is a teething terry shaped like a star with different textured cloth on each point of the star. She also likes the turtle that has teething things on each flipper... but she likes chewing on the snorkel sticking off the top of its head the best. She seems to enjoy the seal with the rattle in it, but she doesn't like to chew on its teething elements much. Her blanket with the giraffe head rattle on it is one her favorites as well, and she smiles everytime she sees it. She is getting better at manuevering her hands, and she likes to stare at them.

She is just starting to discover her feet. No foot in the mouth yet.

I sing her to sleep sometimes, or just to relax her, and the songs I've been singing lately are:

Cyndi Lauper's True Colors, Billy Joel's Goodnight My Angel (Lullabye), Glen Phillip's Don't Need Anything, and Goodnight My Someone from The Music Man. I also sing her "Do Re Mi" from Sound of Music... and "head shoulders knees and toes..." which she loves especially because I move her arms for her.

She has been spitting a lot lately. She gives us raspberries all the time and spits all over the place. It's cute, but a bit messy.

We think she's going to keep the blue eyes. We are still hoping for a reddish color to her hair, and her hair does seem to be taking after Mommy, but it changes. Some days it is very light and other days it seems darker. In the sunlight it has a red tint, and in some of the pictures the flash catches the red.

At certain times her eyebrows turn bright red, but it's the skin underneath turning: when she's trying to poop/pass gas, when she has to burp, and when she is about to cry.

She really doesn't cry all that much, but when she does it's zero to screaming in .5. She is loud! She's our little rockstar.

I will post more pictures when I get home tonight, or possibly tomorrow night, and if all else fails, Sunday.
